A Pete Jive performance is an all-in, no one left seated affair, where Jive locks eyes, ears, legs, voice, fingers, and rapt attention around his audience. Americana on a solstice eve blowout- witches welcome!

Dave Ramont was born with a song stuck in his head. The doctors couldn’t get it out. 20-odd years later he was playing around the Chicago area, teaching at a music school and digging ditches. He released 4 solo records and 4 more with his swillbilly band Dick Smith, garnering play on public & college radio here & abroad. His gigging expanded around the Midwest, South & East. Ramont has produced a few records for other singer/songwriters, and he’s currently singing for rye whisky & sandwiches. And picking through his box o’ songs hidden under the basement stairs...

Dave Sills has opened for the likes of Peter Himmelman, Teddy Thompson, Glen Phillips (Toad The Wet Sprocket), Rusted Root, and many more. He has played all around Chicago-land at such places as SPACE, FitzGerald’s, Martyrs, The Old Town School of Folk Music, The Law Office Pub & Music Hall, and the WXRT main stage at The World’s Largest Block Party.

Musician Spotlight: Average Joey

  • Sidecar Supper Club & Beer Garden (map)

Every Tuesday (except for the first week of the month) from May - September we host independent musicians playing acoustic music during the dinner hours.

This week, welcome Average Joey. Average Joey is a full time traveling songwriter and poet. With an emphasis on lyricism, Joey's songs mix the vulnerability of personal reflection with the political commentary of speaking truth to power. As entertaining as he is honest, as self-aware as he is philosophical, Average Joey’s live show blends musical performance, spoken word poetry, and acapella style group singing to engage the audience with a variety of instrumentation and presentation. His lyrics and poetry offer dark humor, blunt honesty, and image driven word play. Joey does not shy away from the big picture, and the struggles of the people, but presents their stories in a relatable and accessible way. An Average Joey performance invites us to laugh at the absurdities of our times and challenges the audience to envision a better world in order to start building it together.

The Bare Hambones

The Bare Hambones is a roots-rock band that has been performing in the Chicagoland area and throughout the Midwest since 2012. Fronted by charismatic piano-playing lead singer Tim Larsen, the band’s live show is a high energy 50/50 mix of covers and originals. Their originals can be found anywhere you stream music. The covers they play range from 50’s Rock and Roll to Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Country to Tom Petty, The Grateful Dead and up to Chris Stapleton’s Blues-based Alt Country of the present day. They cover a wide spectrum of some of the best songs ever released. The energy of their shows begins with the force that is Brad Riverdahl’s drumming and is held together with the foundation of the band, the creative and true bass player Tony Kubicek. Adding to that rhythm and energy is Mike Brown (“Ladies and Gentlemen, Michael Brown!”) who frequently stomps around on stage while strumming his acoustic guitar. And to top off the music, Chad Hill's vast experience with rockabilly and rock music is a perfect fit for the Roots Rock sound of The Bare Hambones.

Prepare yourself to cheer and tap your feet if The Hambones are coming to your town. There will be songs about desire, love, loss, frustration and most of all, whiskey. Keep an eye on who is singing because they have a few tricks up their sleeves. An evening out with The Bare Hambones is always entertaining.

Union Avenue

Founded in August of 2021, Union Avenue has brought gritty rockabilly, jump blues and old-style country music to audiences across the Midwest. The recipe of astounding vocals supported by vintage electric guitar, upright “slap style” bass, and rock-inspired drums has been an instant success at venues and festivals alike.

The energy and vibrance of the early 1950’s birth of rockabilly is showcased as is rowdy jump blues in lively shows that include rare, unissued songs from the “Sun Records” era as well as new interpretations of more recent cuts, not only from the United States, but also from impressive artists from around the world.

Christopher Myers fronts the band in 1950’s era clothing which brings an authentic visual element to the stage, while his incredible vocals sonically capture the audience. Supported by hypnotizing slap bass rhythms by Steve Knecht and driven by the powerful drumbeats of Francis Lucente, song after song draws the audience in, wondering what will happen next.

Tomorrow's Alliance is an all original band from Chicago. Brothers Jimi and Arthur Liceaga started their journey writing songs together in 2005. Soon after Tomorrow's Alliance was born.

TA has gone on to write over 300 songs and expand their sound reaching audiences throughout Chicagoland festivals, fairs, pubs, non profit events, fund raisers, parades and private shows.

TA's original Americana Alternative Rock sound is just the beginning of the journey that lies ahead. The release of TA's album "Life Goes By Too Fast" in 2023 was a launching point for the band’s dedication and passion in the recording studio. The band continues growing their music catalog, record and produce their songs and perform live. With the release of the latest single in January 2025 entitled “In Your Neighborhood” Jimi, Arthur and Steve are ready for the journey that lies ahead.

"We want to always connect with our fans and set no limit on our imagination, along with spreading positive energy to the world. I hope to inspire and help people through our music."

The atmosphere the band emanates could be compared to a bonfire in the woods on a summer night.

Welcome back The Bart Attacks!

Remember when when last year's beer garden opening almost didn't happen because the singer fell ill and we put out the ^D^ signal? (That's kinda like a bat signal, but with Dante ears, lol) A few answered, one band full of talented, easy going professional made the stress melt away into a great evening. That band was the The Bart Attacks, and we're stoked to have them back, early this Beer Garden season!
